TWA Seeks to Repay Loan in Tickets: Carl Icahn, the airline’s former chairman, would receive the tickets in repayment of loans he made to the company, the Wall Street Journal reported. Trans World Airlines is negotiating such a deal to pay off the $190 million Icahn is due this month, the paper said. Icahn could then resell the tickets. Icahn was ousted as chairman in 1993 as part of TWA’s reorganization. He relinquished control of TWA to employees and creditors in exchange for concessions. He also agreed to loan TWA about $190 million and make contributions to its pension fund.
