Wilson, from Boston, originally came to Southern California to play football. He was the fifth defensive back on Saddleback’s 1992 team that was 11-0 and selected national champion by the J.C. Grid-Wire. Wilson switched to basketball last fall at Irvine Valley and has been a solid performer. In two games last week, Wilson scored 51 points, had 13 assists and 13 rebounds. Irvine Valley won in overtime in each game. Wilson had 29 points in the 89-86 victory over Fullerton.

* Fullerton, sophomore. Austin had 13 blocks in two games and established the Hornets’ single-season record with 63. He also scored 62 points and had 27 rebounds in two games.
