BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Ellis Finishes Off Alemany

Torey Ellis tapped in a rebound after three missed shots in the final seven seconds in overtime to give Chaminade High a 78-76 Mission League victory over Alemany at Chaminade Monday night.

Chaminade (10-4, 2-1 in league play) forced overtime on Tony Castleberry’s layup with three seconds left.

Harvard-Westlake 59, Crespi 53--Jarron Collins made five of six free throws in the final minute to seal a Mission League win for the host Wolverines (15-1, 3-0).

Bell-Jeff 61, Mary Star 55--Tommy Gales scored 19 points and Dave Matekel scored 15 to lead the Guards (8-7, 2-1) in a Santa Fe League game at home.

Buena 56, San Marcos 49--Rob Labrot led Buena (9-4, 3-0) with 12 points in a home Channel League victory.

Ventura 73, Rio Mesa 64--Dante Lincoln scored 20 points and Charles Dixon added 18 to lead the host Cougars (4-8, 2-1) in a Channel League game.

Oxnard 62, Hueneme 55--Tim Ordonez scored 13 points to lead the host Yellowjackets (5-7, 1-2) in a Channel League game.
