Nation IN BRIEF : NATIONWIDE : Dodd Favored for Top Democrat Post

Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd is favored to become Democratic National Committee chairman, Administration and party sources said. As chairman, Dodd would serve as the party’s principal spokesman and take a leading role in raising funds. Because of his Senate duties, a veteran party strategist would manage day-to-day party affairs, the sources said. Donald Fowler of South Carolina, was said to be favored for that post.
