Bus Driver’s Son Takes Wheel; 22 People Die

HANOI — A bus driver let his son take the wheel, the brakes failed and the vehicle plunged into a ravine, killing 21 passengers and the driver, the official Vietnam News Agency reported Sunday.
The boy, whose age was not given, survived the accident Saturday morning in Hoa Binh province southwest of Hanoi. Seventeen people were injured.
“It is known that the driver let his son control the bus. The son is still alive, but the father was killed,” the news agency said.
