Employees Break United Way Record

Orange County employees have donated $875,700 to the annual United Way campaign, former Supervisor Thomas F. Riley announced last week.
This was a record for county employees, and it surpassed their fund-raising goal of $850,000.
During October and November, the employees participated in campaign events including silent auctions, bake sales and a festival.
The county’s 18,000 employees could also support the United Way through payroll deductions.
This was the 15th year that county agencies and departments participated in the campaign.
The United Way of Orange County is a nonprofit organization that addresses local health and human services needs such as child abuse, crime, AIDS prevention, alcohol and drug abuse, child care and assistance for families in crisis.
