Help for Border Businesses: The U.S. Consulate will hold an inaugural reception for entrepreneurs along the U.S.-Mexican border at its new Commercial Information Center at noon Wednesday. The center is part of the federal government’s program to help border business officials meet one another and possibly establish trade relationships. The center will give U.S. and Mexican businesses free access to catalogues, computer databases and listings of trade shows in the United States and Mexico, among other resources. Beginning this week, an official from the San Diego office of the U.S. Commerce Department will be present every week from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday to answer questions. The center is at Tapachula 96, Colonia Hipodromo, Tijuana.
