New Lottery for Katmai Campsites

For the first time, the National Park Service will use a lottery to assign 1995 summer camping permits at Brooks Campground in Alaska’s Katmai National Park. Campers will be allowed a maximum of four nights at one of 18 campsites in the Brooks River area. Applications, which must be returned to Katmai by Feb. 15, are available from the park superintendent, P.O. Box 7, King Salmon, Alaska, 99613.
