Santiago Swamps Bolsa Grande With Goals, 16-0

GARDEN GROVE — Santiago fell four goals short of a Southern Section record for goals scored in a game in a 16-0 victory over Bolsa Grande in a Garden Grove League boys’ soccer game Friday at Santiago.
Erik Bautista scored five goals, Gerardo Dominguez scored four and Timo Rodriguez three for Santiago, which led, 9-0, at halftime.
In 1981, Calexico scored 20 goals in a victory over Calipatria.
Antonio Diaz scored two goals and Albert Mendez and Jose Velasquez each scored one.
