Nation IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : Gingrich to Suggest Special Ethics Panel

House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said he will suggest to Minority Leader Richard Gephardt (D-Mo.) next week that they let a special ethics panel of holdover members consider a pending ethics complaint against him. The Ethics Committee failed last year to resolve the complaint alleging that he broke House rules by using his political organization, GOPAC, to raise funds for a supposedly nonpartisan college course he taught in 1993. Gingrich resumes teaching the course today at Reinhardt College in Georgia.
