NEWPORT BEACH : Council to Select Planning Nominees
- Share via
The City Council on Monday will consider filling the two Planning Commission seats left vacant by former commissioners Norma Glover and Thomas C. Edwards when they were elected to the council in November.
The city received 52 applications and officials interviewed 15 finalists, Planning Director James Hewicker said.
The nominations are expected to be finalized Monday and the appointments approved at the council’s Jan. 23 meeting.
Among the issues facing the new commissioners will be plans for six new Irvine Co. housing developments that were approved in principle last year under an agreement between the city and the company.
