COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Jones Sparks Concordia Past CS San Bernardino

Pharoh Jones, a junior forward, scored 20 points to lead Concordia to an 87-76 victory over host Cal State San Bernardino in a nonconference men’s basketball game Tuesday.
Jeff Putnam, Craig Martin and Tarik James each scored 15 points for Concordia (12-1), which led, 47-40, at halftime. The Eagles return home Friday to play Le Tourneau (Tex.).
In a Big West Conference women’s basketball game:
Long Beach State 60, Nevada Las Vegas 58--Toby Metoyer scored 20 points, Kim Barfield added 15 points and Melissa Gower had 11 points and eight rebounds for visiting Long Beach State (3-5, 1-0) in the Big West opener.
Gwynn Hobbs scored 18 points and Angie White, from Capistrano Valley High, added 15 for Nevada Las Vegas (1-7, 0-1).
LeAnn Kazmer, formerly of Orange Coast, had eight points and five rebounds and Tracy Titus, from Loara High, added six points for the Rebels.
