La Habra officials processed 763 cases of city code violations during the last nine months.
About 40% of the cases involved minor violations such as trash or other types of debris on private property.
Another 16% of the cases involved businesses without proper licenses or home occupation permits.
About 6% involved structural defects or hazardous electrical wiring.
Officials reported that 85% of the cases resulted in compliance and are closed.
But 15% are still open.
City officials said they were pleased with the high rate of compliance.
Today
Hugh Hewitt, co-host of the television show “Life & Times,” will be the featured speaker today at the Irvine Chamber of Commerce’s Good Morning Irvine breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Irvine Marriott hotel.
Hewitt’s talk is entitled “A New Year and a New Congress.” Hewitt is a partner with the Newport Beach law firm of Hewitt & McGuire. In addition to his television work, he also co-hosts a weekly radio show on KFI-AM. There is an admission charge for the event.
