Mater Dei, Junior
Basketball/Guard
Peterson made a big impression as she led the third-ranked Monarchs to victories against No. 4 Newport Harbor, No. 5 Marina and No. 6 Fountain Valley and the title of the Marina tournament. “I think this was a great week in terms of her coming out as a player and showing people how much she has matured,” Mater Dei Coach Mary Hauser said. “When she makes up her mind to go, not worry about anything and go, no one can stop her.” Peterson scored a season-high 35 in a 77-63 victory over Fountain Valley and 28 in a 69-62 victory over Marina in the title game, but Hauser said her defensive play was just as impressive.
