Children who carry the virus that causes AIDS have to struggle with medical and social difficulties beyond their years. Several HIV-positive children in a support group sponsored by the Los Angeles Pediatric AIDS Network expressed their feelings in pictures and stories compiled in a book, “Friends for Life: Stories by Children with HIV.” Reprinted here is part of the story “Belle Gets Pregnant and Gets AIDS,” by a child named Ari.
Proceeds from the $20 book support LAPAN. For more information, call (213) 669-5616.
