Mount St. Mary’s College has received a $250,000 grant to renovate and expand its biological and physical science laboratory facilities.
The grant from the W. M. Keck Foundation will be used to upgrade the facilities to comply with earthquake safety standards and install air-conditioning units and safety doors.
“The improvements provided by this grant will advance the studies of women students engaged in research,” said Sister Annette Bower, chairwoman of the biological sciences department.
The W. M. Keck Foundation provides grants to colleges and universities emphasizing science, engineering and medical research.
