Eleazar Hernandez
SCHOOL: Camarillo
SPORT: Cross-country
YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Hernandez, who placed third in last year’s State Division II championships, has won seven of eight races, including six in a row since finishing second behind Hart’s Brett Strahan in the Mt. Carmel Invitational in September.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Hernandez scored a runaway victory over Agoura’s John Greene--defending Southern Section Division II champion--in a Marmonte League meet last week and won the team sweepstakes race of the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational on Saturday. He was timed in 15 minutes 2 seconds over Mt. SAC’s three-mile course and beat the best field assembled in the state this season. He thrives on (big-meet) competition,” Camarillo Coach Mike Smith said.
