AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, ACT II : Celebration of Civic Pride

At Saturday evening’s black-tie bash, which lasted well past midnight, patrons celebrated both the grand opening of the Probst Auditorium at the Civic Arts Plaza and the 30th anniversary of Thousand Oaks’ incorporation as a city. Guests circulated through the auditorium lobby and two outdoor plazas. A dance floor drew some couples, while others clustered around the buffet table, stocked with cheeses, vegetables and miniature desserts. City Council members--and a few council candidates--worked the crowd. And Theater Director Tom Mitze, relieved and exhausted, shook hand after hand as he accepted post-concert congratulations.
