While I agree with Carmela De Rosa (TV Times, Oct. 2) that David Caruso is star material ... I found his performance in “Thief of Hearts” riveting and wondered what had happened to him. I disagree with her assessment of Dennis Franz. He is the heart and soul of “NYPD Blue” (ABC) and the show resonates with honesty whenever he’s on the screen.
