North Texas Also Will Join Big West in 1996

North Texas made it official Tuesday, accepting an invitation to join the Big West Conference. Idaho, Boise State and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo were announced as new conference members last week with indications that North Texas would follow.
The four teams will join the conference July 1, 1996, when Nevada Las Vegas and San Jose State move to the Western Athletic Conference.
