Cross-country
Medina, from Laguna Hills High, appears to be in good shape as she starts the stretch run of her community college career. She placed third in a field of 118 at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational Friday, with a time of 19 minutes five seconds on the demanding 5,000-meter course. Medina and her Irvine Valley teammates, defending State champions, will compete in the Moorpark Invitational (Oct. 29), the Orange Empire Conference championship (Nov. 5) and the State meet (Nov. 19).

* Cypress, Sophomore. She had two goals and four assists in the Chargers’ two victories.
Volleyball
Becca Foltz
* Golden West, Sophomore. She had 30 kills as the Rustlers won three Orange Empire Conference matches.
