Orange National Bank: The bank said Tuesday that it has instituted a program to help its business customers battle bad-check writers by teaming up with the district attorney’s Bad Check Restitution program.
The Orange-based bank will send information to each of its business banking customers who are victims of bad check writers and make complaint forms available to them.
Under the district attorney’s 3 1/2-year-old program, rubber-check writers must repay the merchant to whom they wrote the bounced check and any related bank fees and attend an eight-hour course, or face possible criminal charges.
