Just when my love affair with Los Angeles had begun to wane, I made the effort to visit the Central Library and celebrate its first anniversary since its reconstruction and addition. What a joy to behold humanity, in all of its guises, collecting around a central and very important part of our city.
The canopy in the Bradley Wing bursts forth with color and design, sending an energy to all who pass through. The magnificent rotunda with its fabulous mural is truly dazzling. The juxtaposition of the old and new is sublime.
You have renewed my love for you, Los Angeles, by providing me with the perfect jewel, the Central Library. Thank you.
