Micropolis Corp. Loses $10.9 Million for Quarter

Micropolis Corp., a struggling maker of computer disk drives and other data storage products, reported a $10.9 million third-quarter loss.
A year earlier, the Chatsworth-based company lost $12.9 million. Its sales in the three months ended Sept. 30 fell 12%, to $79.3 million from $90.5 million.
Micropolis’ nine-month loss totaled $35.5 million, while its sales for the period declined 18%, to $238.7 million. The company lost $14 million on $292.6 million in sales in the comparable 1993 period.
