The Fountain Valley School District board has postponed signing a final agreement to sell the vacant John B. Bushard School site to a home developer.
Interim Supt. Robert G. Sampica said that trustees in an executive session discussion wanted additional information from Kaufman & Broad-South Coast Inc. of Newport Beach, which has offered to buy the site for $5.7 million.
There are 58 single-family homes planned for the 10-acre property. Demolition of school buildings has also been postponed.
Board of Trustees President Robert Sedlak said that the parties are “working on the final details, and we’re hoping to finalize it soon.”
Sampica said that no date has been set for trustees to take final action on the deal.
At the same meeting last week, trustees did approve a sales agreement for the vacant James O. Harper School property. Costain Homes Inc. of Newport Beach will buy the property for $8.26 million. Not more than 59 single-family homes will be built on the 14-acre site.
