September Jobless Figures Expected: Economy watchers should know Friday whether Orange County’s jobless rate rose as summer ended or if the recovery economists have been talking about for months is really here. In six of the past 10 years, the September unemployment rate has jumped from the August rate, including last year. It stayed the same once and fell three times, most recently in 1992. This year, the August rate was 5.9%, one of the lowest among the state’s large counties.
