Susan Love, a Los Angeles-based physician, has been awarded $25,000 in recognition of her work in breast cancer research and advocacy.
The Frontrunner award, sponsored by the Sara Lee Corp., will be presented to Love and three other women in business, the arts, government and the humanities at a New York luncheon next month. Love, co-founder of the National Breast Cancer Coalition and director of the UCLA Breast Center, is expected to donate her award to the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
This year’s nominees were selected from about 3,000 organizations, corporations, government leaders and individuals nationwide. The Frontrunner awards, founded in 1986, honor women whose “achievements and accomplishments have made a difference in society.”
