Get Rid of Guns

We all can agree that in order to prevent the violence that is so prevalent in our society today, it is imperative to “enable the family to fulfill its function as the source of emotional, financial and material support essential for the well-being of its members” (“U.N. Year of the Family an Occasion to Re-Examine Priorities,” Oct. 2).
If we started a program today--how long would it take to see any results? 10 years? 20 years?
In the meantime, many citizens will not be here to see the results. Not because they died of old age, but because they were murdered by guns.
Let’s get rid of the guns while we are endeavoring to educate families.
