The Name Game

With due respect to the individuals “honored,” why all this self-accolade by our county politicians who name or rename public properties after each other? It seems to me that Bolsa Chica and Wagon Wheel are more appropriate names for public parks than Harriett M. Wieder or Gen. Thomas F. Riley.
Considering the present trend, it wouldn’t surprise me if our county becomes William G. Steiner County, California.
Apparently Mr. Steiner is next in line.
