COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Polowski Scores Twice in Irvine’s Soccer Victory

P.J. Polowski scored twice and had an assist to help UC Irvine to a 5-1 victory over Cal State Northridge in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation soccer game Friday at UC Irvine.

Polowski’s goals came in the first half and gave UC Irvine (10-3, 3-1) a 2-0 lead. Michael Succi, Sean Murphy and Bret Cowan also scored for UCI. Cal State Northridge is 6-6, 0-3.

In another Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game:

Cal State Fullerton 3, Nevada Las Vegas 0--The Titans (8-4-1) got a first-half goal from Joey Franchino and second-half goals from Brad Wilson and Matt Bradbury.

In Big West women’s volleyball:

Hawaii 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Jennifer Lipski had 11 kills for the Titans (0-18, 0-8) in a 15-5, 15-8, 15-5 loss.

Long Beach State 3, Pacific 2--Brita Schwerm had 27 kills and Nichelle Burton added 24 kills as host Long Beach (12-3, 7-1) upset fifth-ranked Pacific.
