PREP EXTRA / SATURDAY FOOTBALL PULLOUT : Orange Lutheran Routs Whittier Christian

WHITTIER — Quarterback Joe Juliano and running back Che Holloway ran the option for a combined 249 yards and six touchdowns as Orange Lutheran defeated Whittier Christian, 53-8, Friday night at Whittier College.
Juliano rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns and had one passing touchdown; Holloway rushed for 149 yards and four touchdowns.
Holloway’s first score came on an 11-yard run on the Lancers opening drive. Orange Lutheran (5-1, 1-0 in the Olympic League) then recovered an onside kick and scored three plays later on a 13-yard touchdown run by Juliano.
Whittier Christian’s Nick Valdez fumbled on the Lancer 16-yard line, and Orange Lutheran scored again when Holloway took an option pitch and ran 46 yards for a touchdown and a 20-0 first-quarter lead.
The Heralds’ problems continued in the second quarter. Valdez fumbled on the Whittier Christian 21-yard line, setting up a five-yard run by Holloway. Soon after Juliano scored on a 50-yard run. Holloway’s fourth touchdown, a three-yard run, gave the Lancers a 40-0 halftime lead.
Midway through the third quarter, Juliano hit Mike Crawford with a 57-yard touchdown pass. Orange Lutheran’s last touchdown was a 55-yard run by Dan Young in the fourth quarter.
