Royal Routs Camarillo, 55-10

CAMARILLO — Quarterback Wes Lagatta threw four touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Royal High’s 55-10 rout of host Camarillo in a Marmonte League game Friday night.
Lagatta completed five of 13 passes for 128 yards with scoring strikes of 14 and 16 yards to Jerome Lee and 11 and 79 yards to Brendan Gibson. Lagatta’s scoring run covered 63 yards.
Christian Broussard’s 87-yard kickoff return to open the second half ignited a 35-point explosion for Royal (5-1, 3-0).
Royal forced fumbles on Camarillo’s first two plays of the game, which resulted in a quick 13-0 lead.
The Highlanders had a string of 11 scoreless quarters snapped when Shawn Nakamura kicked a 21-yard field goal with 3:17 left in the third quarter. Royal recorded eight sacks, including 4 1/2 by Ryan Russell, who also had a fumble recovery.
Camarillo’s Roth Valencia rushed for 119 yards in 17 carries, including an 88-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
