Crespi 14, St. John Bosco 7--Defensive back Chris Crawley knocked down a pass in the end zone with 1:28 to play to shut down a last-minute St. John Bosco comeback threat.
Quarterback Dave Lins (16 of 19, 140 yards) of Crespi (3-3, 1-0) had two touchdown passes to Wayne Emerson, one for 10 yards and the winning score for 20. Emerson had eight receptions for 85 yards and threw a 29-yard pass to Jeff DeFinney (six receptions, 72 yards).
The Crespi defense, while giving up 246 yards, was able to give the offense good field position--most notably when defensive lineman David Barrio blocked a punt to give the offense the ball in scoring position.
