Oxnard 34, Rio Mesa 27--Oxnard’s Taj Lewis had first-half touchdown runs of 19 and 12 yards to lead Oxnard (4-2, 3-0) at home.
Lewis also passed to Tim Ordonez for a five-yard score to give the Yellowjackets a 21-0 lead at the half.
Rio Mesa (1-5, 0-3) was down 28 points before Charlie Boch had a 30-yard run for a touchdown and Rashod Rose rushed 44 yards for a touchdown to cut the lead in half.
David Cameron returned a Steve Arneson kickoff 93 yards for Oxnard’s final score.
Rose had 180 yards and two touchdowns in 40 carries.
