ENCINO : Drainage Pipe Work to Begin in December

Traffic delays may occur when work on Encino’s drainage system begins in December, but the improvements should be worth the inconvenience, officials said.
“When completed, this project should substantially ease chronic flooding in the surrounding area,” Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman said.
Workers plan to install about 7,000 feet of storm drain pipe beneath Haskell Avenue, Ventura Boulevard and Hartsook Street.
The $1.53-million contract will be carried out by workers of Malden Buntich Construction of Sunland and administered by the county’s Department of Public Works.
While the work may close some lanes to through traffic, local access will remain open at all times, Edelman said.
The projected is expected to be completed in June.
