Heavenly Dolls: Dream Castle, the New York-based maker of “inspirational toys,” has introduced Sweet Angel, a doll from the Heaven Knows line. The 16-inch, soft-bodied doll responds to touch, its makers say. When hugged, the doll sings “This Little, Little Light of Mine” and a halo on top of her head lights up.
For a bedtime prayer, the hands can be stuck together with an attached Velcro strip.
Sweet Angels come in African American, Latino and white versions and are dressed in pastel-colored pajamas or daytime wear.
They are designed for children ages 3 and older and retail for about $19.99. They require three AAA batteries, which come with the doll.
