McGurk Gets Senior Disney Post: Chris McGurk was named president of the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, making him responsible for business activities as well as international theatrical distribution, film acquisitions, Miramax Films, Hollywood Records and Disney theatrical productions such as the Broadway production of “Beauty and the Beast.” McGurk joined Disney in 1988 as senior vice president of finance.
