Sony Forms New Retail Unit: Sony Corp. of America said it has formed a company to oversee its movie theaters as well as retail and location-based entertainment centers worldwide. The new company, Sony Retail Entertainment, will be chaired by Stanley P. (Mickey) Steinberg, who will continue to head Sony Development. Lawrence J. Ruisi, who currently oversees the 1,000-screen Sony Theaters chain, has been named president of the new company and will continue to oversee the theaters, which compose the seventh-largest chain in North America.
