Suspect in 3 Attacks Captured After SWAT Team Fires Gas Into Apartment

A police SWAT team, firing tear gas and “flash-bang” canisters, captured a suspect Tuesday wanted in connection with a weekend series of attacks in Anaheim.

Marlon Ray Anderson, 19, was taken in handcuffs by police at 4:15 p.m. after they fired into a barricaded apartment in the 7900 block of Court Street, according to Buena Park police Sgt. Robert Chaney.

Anaheim police said they were informed of Anderson’s location and asked Buena Park police for help.

Anderson was sought by Anaheim police in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl, an assault with a deadly weapon on a 16-year-old girl and an attempted murder of a man, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Steve Rodig. The three unrelated incidents all took place in West Anaheim over the weekend, he said.

Anderson, who was on probation for an earlier robbery conviction, was held without bail in the Anaheim detention facility, Rodig said. The investigation is continuing.
