Nationwide Health Buys 9 Properties

NEWPORT BEACH — Nationwide Health Properties Inc. said Tuesday that it has added nine properties to its portfolio of health-care facilities.
The real estate investment trust, based in Newport Beach, said it paid $19 million to buy five long-term care facilities that together have more than 600 beds. It also provided $6 million in mortgage financing for four nursing homes. The new facilities bring Nationwide Health Properties’ total investments for 1994 to $87 million.
