HUNTINGTON BEACH : Jailed Pair Held in Trailer Park Killings

Two men already in custody have been accused of the shooting deaths of a Huntington Beach couple in a trailer park last year, police said Monday.

Travis Scott Frederiken, 23, and Richard Darren Fleck, 29, are being held in the Dec. 7 deaths of Michelle Lawson, 32, and Joshua Wells, 20.

Frederiken, who was in the Davis County Jail in Utah on unrelated drug charges, was arraigned on first-degree murder charges on Thursday in Orange County. He is being held without bail in the Orange County Jail.

Fleck, who also was being held on drug charges in a state prison in Blythe, will be arraigned here later this week. He too will be charged with murder, officials said.

“I couldn’t really be specific about how the men were found because the investigation is still going on,” Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Chuck Thomas said.

Police do not know when Fleck was incarcerated and could only say he had been in prison for several months.

Lawson and Wells were found by police lying next to each other in a trailer early on Dec. 7 after neighbors reported hearing gun shots.

Investigators are trying to determine the relationship between the two suspects and the victims, Thomas said.
