CENTURY CITY : Expansion of Recycling Program Enters Last Phase

Los Angeles municipal officials marked the rollout Monday of the final phase of the city’s curbside recycling program, with a Western-themed fair in the Century Plaza Towers’ courtyard. The event completes the expansion of the city’s 4-year-old recycling program.
The program, begun in El Sereno in September, 1990, is the largest such effort undertaken by a U.S. city.
