Cleveland 39, Birmingham 7--The Cavaliers (3-2, 2-0) scored 20 points in less than three minutes in the third quarter.

Quarterback Johnny Lopez passed for three touchdowns and ran for another. He completed 12 of 17 for 156 yards. Junior Brignac caught one of Lopez’s scoring passes and added another touchdown when he returned an interception 36 yards.

Quarterback Paul Prince completed seven of 15 for 123 yards, including a 68-yard scoring pass to Jason Howard, for Birmingham (3-2, 1-1).
