Wheelchair Tennis Tournament Opens

IRVINE — More than 350 wheelchair tennis players from 25 countries will compete in the 15th U.S. Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships today through Oct. 16 at the Racquet Club of Irvine.
The event is the culmination of the Grand Prix circuit, which includes 70 wheelchair tennis events nationwide. The event begins with competition in the junior, masters and mixed doubles divisions.
Competition is scheduled in various skill divisions each day beginning at 9 a.m. The women’s open singles finals will be at noon Oct. 15, the men’s open singles finals at noon Oct. 16.
The tournament is organized by the San Clemente-based National Foundation of Wheelchair Tennis.
