VAN NUYS : L.A. Circus to Visit Hospital

The big top will rise above Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys today and the acrobats, elephants and clowns will come marching in.
The L.A. Circus has come to town and will offer three performances today, the first beginning at 11 a.m., and another three performances Sunday.
The event is the fourth annual circus sponsored by the hospital, and a way of “saying thanks to the community,” said Valley Presbyterian spokeswoman Janna Wilson.
Presented by the L.A. Foundation of Circus Arts and the city’s Cultural Affairs Department, the 90-minute shows will run at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. each day.
In addition to the requisite old-fashioned circus performances, other events at the hospital--15107 Vanowen St.--will include a circus clown workshop for children before each show, a classic car display and a bicycle safety course on Saturday.
Tickets are $4 per person, $2 for those over 55, and children under 2 get in free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate before each show or in advance from the hospital’s first-floor gift shop.
