During the housing boom of the 1960s, county officials changed the names of many roads to make them consistent throughout the county.
Roads originally named after tiny towns and junctions--such as Wintersburg, Smeltzer and Delhi--were among those changed. The goal of the name changes was to make it easier for drivers to find their way around the county. Here are a few of the name changes:
