I applaud your candid summary of the Michelin Green Guide to California (Travel Insider, Sept. 11). Where the editor gleaned her information on Newport Beach is a mystery to me. You can only imagine my shock (when I read that the guide awarded only one star) to Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, two locations offering some of the world’s best public beaches, not to mention restaurants, shops and accommodations to fit all tastes and pocketbooks.
