Hughes Helps Lead Bell-Jeff Over La Salle, 28-7

MONROVIA — Danny Hughes of Bell-Jeff High gained 129 yards and scored on a four-yard run and a 30-yard fumble return during a 28-7 victory over La Salle in a Santa Fe League opener Saturday night at Monrovia High.
Bell-Jeff quarterback Richard Sztepycki passed for 165 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to David Matekel.
