Serving the Needy

Thanks for the article regarding how the charities are struggling these days to maintain the level of food distribution, aid to the homeless and counseling where the need is so great now (“Episcopal Group That Aids Needy Feels Pinch,” Sept. 17).
Worthy of mention is that the Episcopal Service Alliance benefits from support by over 80 churches. Also, at its inception years ago in San Clemente, it was the South Orange County Community Services Council that convened the meeting of Episcopal, Methodist, Catholic and Presbyterian ministers and lay people to cooperate and communicate together. These partnerships are definitely the way to go.
