BRIEFLY : Open Space: Family to Donate Land to City
- Share via
A local family plans to donate three acres on Silver Spur Road and Crenshaw Boulevard to the city of Rolling Hills Estates.
Evelyn Levitt and her daughters Alexandria and Susan have proposed giving the land in memory of the family patriarch, Al Levitt, who died last year at age 69, said their attorney, William A. Finer. Al Levitt was a developer and property manager.
However, two of the estate’s acres are in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes. Finer said he will ask Rancho Palos Verdes to adjust its boundary so the land can become part of Rolling Hills Estates.
Although council members in Rolling Hills Estates have discussed the donation, they have not decided if it should be rezoned.
The Levitt family has lived in the South Bay for more than 30 years.
